Privacy Notice
Version 2026-09-07 · Effective 7 September 2026
Operator: Home Value
Who handles your information
Home Value operates Home Value and is responsible for the information it processes to provide this website and portal. A landlord, housing agent, or repair professional may also have separate responsibilities for records they maintain and services they provide. Contact us to identify the responsible party for a particular request.
Information we process
Depending on your use of the service, we process your name and contact details, account and role identifiers, property and tenancy information, enquiries, messages, repair requests, relevant attachments, and records of terms acceptance. Authentication and hosting services also process necessary session, device, network, and security information. Avoid uploading identity documents, financial details, health information, or other sensitive material unless it is specifically required for a lawful purpose.
Why we use it
We use relevant information to verify access, administer tenancies and enquiries, route repairs, communicate with you, prevent misuse, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Depending on the purpose and applicable law, processing relies on providing an agreed service, legal duties, legitimate interests balanced against your rights, or consent where required. Accepting the website terms does not provide blanket consent for unrelated processing.
Who can receive it
Authorised housing staff can access records needed for their work. Repair professionals receive the requests assigned to them and relevant details needed to perform that work. Other tenants do not receive access to your private portal records. Our authentication, database, storage, and hosting providers process information to operate the service. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to investigate misuse or protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
Hosting, transfers, and external content
Service providers may process data outside your country. Transfers must use the protections and authorisations required by applicable law. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data. Loading external property images, map embeds, or following external links can disclose technical information such as your IP address to those providers; their own privacy notices also apply.
Cookies and security
Authentication cookies are used to keep you signed in and protect your session. We use access controls and restricted storage for private records. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials private, sign out on shared devices, and report suspected unauthorised access promptly. Any optional tracking or marketing that requires consent must be presented separately from account access.
Retention
We retain records only for as long as reasonably needed for their stated purpose, active tenancy or service obligations, security investigations, disputes, and applicable retention requirements. Records no longer required should be deleted or anonymised. Some information may remain in protected backups until those backups expire. Account closure alone does not require deletion of records that must lawfully be kept.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access or correct your information, request deletion or restriction where applicable, object to processing, or withdraw consent for processing based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing. We may need proportionate verification of your identity before responding and will explain any legal reason that prevents a request from being fulfilled. You can raise privacy concerns with us and, where applicable, with the competent data protection regulator in your jurisdiction.
Updates
This notice carries a version and effective date. We will explain material changes and request fresh consent where the law requires it.
